Welcome to SVPL

Welcome the the Severn Valley Pétanque League (SVPL). As the name suggests, SVPL is located in the Severn Valley region and has been active for some considerable time, we are not affiliated to the British Petanque Federation at present. The SVPL currently run a Summer League with matches being played on a Tuesday evening. We also run team, triples, singles, doubles and mixed doubles knockout competitions during the Summer League season

If you don’t really know about Pétanque then take a look at our site which gives an overview of the game of Pétanque. The Severn Valley Pétanque League Committee provides an effective administrative structure which enables the league to thrive. We are always looking for new players and new teams.   • FIXTURE UPDATE: The knockout phases of the 2026 Mac Turner Team knockout have been delayed and will start on Tuesday 25th August. Tuesday 18th August will be used to catch up on postponed league fixtures
  • Entries are still being taken for the Triples Competition on Sunday 16th August. The Competition will be played at Little Lakes
  • Barbara Parkes trophy to be held on Sunday 6th September at Alveley Social Club, there is still room for more teams
  • First round of the singles plate knockout starts in August, if you lost a first round singles match you will automatically be entered into the plate competition
